Julie Morrison, our incumbent Supervisor, has led West Deerfield Township for 12 years. A recognized community leader, Julie has maintained a balanced budget every year in office while also expanding community services for seniors, low-income families and the disabled. Our township taxes are among the lowest in the state.
Julie is serving her third term as Township Supervisor. She and her family have lived in Deerfield for over 25 years. Julie has been active in her community and in government on many levels:
Her experience in government includes Chairman of the Governor’s Statewide Advisory Council on Children and Family Services, Illinois Energy Resources Commission, Governor’s Office of Manpower and Human Development, and Illinois House of Representatives Committee Staff (the Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Committee, and the Agriculture Committee).
Volunteer experience includes The Highland Park Hospital Community Advisory Committee, Village of Deerfield Manpower Commission, Patty Turner Senior Center Accreditation Committee, Volunteer for NICASA, Rotary Club of Deerfield, Hospice of the North Shore (Palliative Care) volunteer, Faith in Action Board Member, president of the West Deerfield Township Food Pantry, and treasurer of the Deerfield Community Emergency Fund. She served as a Director on the Township Officials of Illinois Supervisors’ Board.
She is a graduate of Knox College with a bachelor's degree in Political Science. She was formerly employed as a federal energy regulations analyst at Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America. She and her husband Joe have three children: Mike, Mark and Katherine.
